Teen Read Week


Today marks the beginning of Teen Read Week! The goal of Teen Read Week is to encourage young adults to read for fun and increase awareness of library resources available for this population. 

Miss Theresa at the Oak Brook Public Library has put together an exciting week of fun activities and promotions specifically for our young adults. 

Sunday 10/14 (and throughout the week)- Candy Jar Guess for ALL AGES. Come to the Youth Services Desk to see if you can get the closet estimate to win a jar full of candy. Including Twizzlers and Sweet Tarts some of Miss Cate's favorites!

We will be hosting a showing of Mel Brook's Young Frankenstein (PG)  in the Youth Activity Room at 6:30 PM. In the movie Dr. Frankenstein's grandson (Gene Wilder), after years of living down the family reputation, inherits granddad's castle and repeats the experiments. This comedy with sci-fi elements you will be sure to enjoy. 





Tuesday 10/16 - Incredible Bats program at 6:30 in the Friend's Meeting Room. Interested in animals? Have you ever wanted to see a real bat up close? Well this is the program for you! Wednesday 10/17 and Thursday 10/18 - Popcorn Study Night in Youth Activity Room from 5-9pm. Grab your friends and come finish your homework together while chowing down on popcorn at the library!







Friday 10/19 and Saturday 10/20 - Teen's Free Film Certificate with Book Check Out!
Teen's will get a FREE DVD or Video Game Rental when they check out any book at the Oak Brook Library.
