Teen Literature Day! (National Library Week 2013)


Sunday marked the beginning of National Library Week! National Library week celebrates libraries all over the country with the theme "Communities Matter @ Your Library!"


To celebrate the Youth Services Department has put together a puzzle featuring popular Young Adult books. Can you figure out what books these are from just a piece of their cover?


Send your answers to obplblog@gmail.com to be entered for a drawing. This contest will end April 20th, so be sure to send your answers in soon!

National Library Week 2013 - Communities Matter @ Your Library

Sunday is the beginning of National Library Week! National Library week celebrates libraries all over the country with the theme "Communities Matter @ Your Library!"
Oak Brook Library is going to celebrate with special events throughout the week. Take a look at all the fun things we are doing to spotlight our community!

Sunday, April 14
Spotlight on Community Guess the location of these photographs. All correct answers will be entered into a drawing to win a prize on Saturday!
 Share Your Favorite Book Post your favorite books on a bulletin board.

Monday, April 15
Marathon Monday In celebration of the Boston Marathon all patrons who read 26 pages in the library will receive a prize.
Make and OBPL Bookmark Contest Stop by the Youth Services Desk through Thursday to create a bookmark for the library. The winning design will be reproduced and available for patrons on Saturday.
A-MAZE-ing Monday Stop by the Youth Services desk for puzzles and mazes.

Tuesday, April 16
Take a Guess on Tuesday Guess the weight of our Webster's Dictonary. All correct answers will be entered in a drawing for a prize on Saturday.
Library Workers Day Check our our staff photo board.

Wednesday, April 17
Where's Waldo Wenesday Locate all the hidden "Waldo"s in the library stacks. All correct answers will be entered in a drawing for a prize on Saturday.

Thursday, April 18 
Teen Literature Day Enter the contest on the Youth Services Blog. All entrants will be entered into a drawing for a prize on Saturday.
Take a Look, Buy a Book Stop by the Friend's of OBPL Book Sale.

Friday, April 19
Free Film Friday All movies and games may be checked out without a fee.

Saturday, April 20
Suggestion Saturday Share suggestions so that we can make our library an even better place for the community!
Super Saturday Book Bargains Stop by in the afternoon for the last day of the Friends of the OBPL book sale.
