Let's Get Cooking! Reading is So Delicious and Eating is Too! Try Out These Tasty Cookbooks!

Imagine the decadent smells of exotic dishes wafting through the air like spicy fried dumpling-like morsels such as Akkra from Jamaica or savory Stuffed Green Peppers and Potatoes from Hungary as they busily cook away on your stove top. You could also choose to reminisce of a simpler time by devouring a bowl of a colonial American breakfast favorite, Hasty Pudding.

Jungle Jamboree! See the fun we had during our Toddling Twos Jungle Storytime Today

It's a jungle out there (I mean in the library) where we had so much fun monkeying around during storytime!

We danced like monkeys in a Monkey See Monkey Do dance from the everythingpreschool.com website, learned which animals in the jungle live in trees in a tree-mendous flannelboard game, created tropical patterns in our Tropical Mix and Match Game, and made a Polly the Parrot craft.

The children were also given a shiny police badge in honor of National Police Week which will be occurring on May 13 - 19! Unfortunately, today was our last storytime, so I had to give the badges out a little earlier than usual.

This was our last storytime for this session. We will begin registering children on May 14th (for Oak Brook residents) and June 4th for non-residents for our summer sessions.

We matched the patterns  in this Tropical Mix and Match Game!

Jungle Animal Flannelboard (Cutouts from June/July 2010 Mailbox Magazine "Tree Climbers" flannelboard game and Cricut catridges)

We also talked about how police officers keep us safe and the children were given police badges!
