Block Kids Construction Program was a success!

The Block Kids Program introduces children to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of and to promote an interest in future careers in one of the many facets of the industry.

The Block Kids Building Program is a national building competition which is sponsored on local levels with winning entries advancing to the regional competition. One semi-finalist from each region is entered in the NEF National Program competition.

Judges from the Chicago Metro Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) had a difficult time deciding the top four builders in this Lego block building competition. Children were all given a bag of one hundred Lego blocks and were asked to build a project that was in some way related to the contruction industry. They were scored on their oral presentation, enthusiasm, creativity, use of materials, attention to detail, and reason for participating.

Congratulations to Skylar who won first place! His project will be submitted in the NAWIC Regional Competition.
Way to go, Skylar!

Congratulations also to:
 Serene - 2nd Place
Emma - 3rd Place
Angelina - Honorable Mention
Everyone did a great job!
